Swedish Meatballs

Directions

  1. 1Finely dice onions and caramelize them.
  2. 2In a bowl, mix ground beef, egg, panko breadcrumbs, minced garlic, allspice, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. 3Add the cooled down caramelized onions to the bowl and mix well.
  4. 4Divide the meat mixture and shape them into meatballs.
  5. 5Sear the meatballs on all sides until golden brown.
  6. 6Remove meatballs from the pan and make a roux with butter and flour in the same pan.
  7. 7Add beef broth, heavy cream and FAGE sour cream to the pan, whisking until it becomes a creamy sauce.
  8. 8Add Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, and Parmesan to the sauce.
  9. 9Return the meatballs to the pan and coat them in the sauce.
  10. 10Serve over a bed of mashed potatoes with peas and lingonberry sauce.

  • 1 serving peas
  • 1 serving lingonberry sauce
