Reserve at least a quarter-cup of the liquid before draining the pasta.

While the pasta cooks, melt the butter in a pan.

Sauté the minced garlic in the melted butter until golden and fragrant.

Whisk in the reserved pasta water to create a smooth emulsion.

Stir in the soy sauce, parmesan, and red chili flakes until combined.

Toss in the cooked noodles.

Allow any clinging water to help thin the sauce and mix thoroughly until every strand is evenly coated and glossy.

0.33 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1 tbsp Soy sauce
1 tsp Red chili flakes
0.25 cup Reserved starchy pasta water
