Slice your onions.

Throw your slices into the crock pot.

Top with butter.

Cook on low for 8 hours.

Switch to high for another 2 hours.

Add to jars.

Wipe your rims with vinegar.

Put your flats and rings on finger tight and load them in your canner.

Pressure can these for 75 minutes, or water bath for 3 hours.

6 white or yellow onions
6 tablespoon butter
Salt

Tips
Do not slice too thin, or onions will be stringy.
Pressure can for 75 minutes, or water bath for 3 hours.
Fill jars, leaving a 1/2 inch head space.
Wipe rims with vinegar.
Put flats and rings on finger tight and load them in the canner.
Stir every few hours if possible while in the slow cooker.
Most commonly used for burgers and sandwiches, but can be used for more things.
