Directions

  1. 1In a large bowl, combine 4 cups of Rice Krispies cereal and 2 cups of salted peanuts.
  2. 2In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of peanut butter, 1 cup of corn syrup, and 1 cup of packed brown sugar.
  3. 3Heat the peanut butter mixture on the stove over medium-low heat until it is nice, creamy, and combined. Do not cook or boil.
  4. 4Pour the creamy peanut butter mixture over the Rice Krispies and peanuts in the large bowl.
  5. 5Incorporate the mixture well until everything is evenly coated.
  6. 6Transfer the mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 prepared pan.
  7. 7Press the mixture firmly and evenly throughout the pan.
  8. 8In a measuring cup, combine 1 cup of milk chocolate chips and 1 cup of butterscotch chips with a little bit of coconut oil and melt using the microwave method (or double boiler).
  9. 9Pour the melted chocolate and butterscotch mixture on top of the pressed base in the pan.
  10. 10Spread the melted topping evenly over the bars.
  11. 11Allow the bars to set on the counter at room temperature for approximately 4 hours before cutting them.
  12. 12Carefully remove the set bars from the pan using the parchment paper.
  13. 13Cut the bars into desired slices.
  14. 14Taste a slice of the Sweet Marie Bar.
