Directions

  1. 1Cut up some flank steak into some thin strips.
  2. 2Chop up some ginger and lots of garlic.
  3. 3Add half of the garlic and the ginger to the meat to marinate.
  4. 4Save the rest of the garlic and ginger for when cooking.
  5. 5Add baking soda and cornstarch to the meat to make it tender and moist.
  6. 6Add oil, soy, and oyster sauce to the meat.
  7. 7Mix well, cover, and leave the meat alone.
  8. 8Chop up broccoli.
  9. 9Add chicken broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy, sesame oil, brown sugar, and white pepper to a measuring cup.
  10. 10Mix the sauce ingredients.
  11. 11Heat a pan with oil.
  12. 12Add the beef to the hot pan and flatten the pieces.
  13. 13Once the beef starts cooking, saute it up.
  14. 14After about a minute, remove the meat.
  15. 15Add a little more oil.
  16. 16Add the rest of the garlic and ginger.
  17. 17Deglaze the pan with Shaoxing wine.
  18. 18Add broccoli to the pan and saute violently.
  19. 19Cover with a lid and let cook a few minutes.
  20. 20Add the sauce to the pan.
  21. 21Let the sauce come up to a boil, then add a cornstarch slurry to thicken.
  22. 22Once the sauce starts to thicken, add the meat back up.
  23. 23Cook for another minute or so.
  24. 24Add green onions and sesame seeds.
