Directions
1
Rinse two cups of pinto beans thoroughly.
2
Place the rinsed beans directly into the crockpot, ensuring the water level is pretty high.
3
Add 1/4 cup of chopped onions to the crockpot.
4
Add two chopped garlic cloves.
5
Add 1.5 teaspoons of black pepper.
6
Add about a tablespoon of salt, noting that salt gets absorbed during cooking and more may be needed later.
7
Add about a teaspoon of red pepper flakes.
8
Set the crockpot on high for about 5 to 5.5 hours, or let them cook overnight on a lower setting.
9
Once cooked, taste the beans and add more salt if necessary.
Ingredients
2 cups pinto beans
0.25 cup chopped onions

1.5 teaspoon black pepper

Taste the beans after cooking and add more salt if needed.
