Cheesy Chickpea Balls

Directions

  1. 1Take previously soaked and boiled chickpeas (chhole) after removing the water.
  2. 2Mash them well with a fork, masher, mixer, or grinder.
  3. 3Add finely grated carrots to the mashed chickpeas.
  4. 4Add any type of grated cheese.
  5. 5Add bread crumbs.
  6. 6Add salt to taste.
  7. 7Add black pepper powder.
  8. 8Mix everything well with your hands until combined to form a dough-like consistency.
  9. 9Take small portions and roll them into balls, similar to ladoos. You can also make flat tikki shapes.
  10. 10Optionally, lightly coat the balls in bread crumbs.
  11. 11Heat an appe pan, grease it with a little oil, and place the chickpea balls in the molds.
  12. 12Cook until golden brown on all sides.
  13. 13Carefully remove the cooked cheese balls from the appe pan.

  • 1 medium sized fine grated Carrot
  • 0.5 cup Cheese
  • 0.33 cup Bread Crumbs
  • as per taste Salt
  • as per taste pepper powder

Tips

  • You can deep fry, air fry, or make it as shown in the video, they'll taste amazing either way.
  • The bread crumbs can be made by grinding any type of bread in a grinder.
  • The breadcrumbs for coating are an optional step.
  • The cheese balls will firm up a bit after cooling.
