Drizzle some olive oil into the bottom of a crock pot.
Chop one smallish medium onion roughly and place it into the crock pot with the olive oil.
Add 3 pounds of little waxy potatoes to the crock pot with the onions and stir to coat everything in olive oil.
Crack a bunch of black pepper into the crock pot, along with garlic powder and creole seasoning. Stir everything again.
Add one package of Ranch seasoning to the crock pot and mix well.
Cut the andouille sausage into bite-sized pieces and add them to the crock pot.
Cut 1 pound of fresh green beans into manageable pieces and add them to the crock pot with the other ingredients.
Add one stick of butter on top of the ingredients in the crock pot.
Put the lid on the crock pot and cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-8 hours.
The green beans are properly grey now, but they're not obliterated. They still have some form to them. The potatoes are tender, and the sausage, of course, remains whole and smells terrific. It is so hot, so handle with care when eating it straight out of the crock pot.
The andouille sausage is nice and garlicky with a little punch of heat. The ranch seasoning gives it a good amount of flavor. The green beans are well cooked but not mushy, and the waxy yellow potatoes held their shape and are tender.
