Directions

Slice the squash thinly.

Move the sliced squash to the side.

Add 2 tablespoons of cornmeal to a cup.

Add 1/2 tablespoon of sugar to the cup.

Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the cup.

Add 1 teaspoon of pepper to the cup.

Mix the ingredients in the cup.

Add the sliced squash to a Ziplock bag.

Pour the cornmeal mixture into the Ziplock bag with the squash.

Zip the bag up.

Shake the bag to coat the squash with the cornmeal mixture.

Let the coated squash sit for 10 minutes.

Heat oil in a skillet to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or medium heat.

Drop the coated squash into the hot oil.

Fry until golden brown, which takes about 5 minutes.

Flip the squash over to cook the other side.

Drain the fried squash on a wire rack.
