Directions

  1. 1Wash and clean ham hocks. Add chicken stock to a pot and place over medium high heat. Add diced yellow onion. Cook for 2 1/2 - 3 hours, adding cups of water as stock decreases.
  2. 2Wash and chop collard greens.
  3. 3Break ham hocks apart removing only the bones. Add 1 1/4 cup water (only if liquid is low, do not add too much water because greens create liquid). Add chopped greens.
  4. 4Let greens cook for 45 mins - 1 hr or until tender. Add Lawry's seasoning salt, Apple Cider Vinegar, red pepper flakes, Cholula Hot Sauce, and sugar. Taste and adjust seasonings.
  5. 5Serve with cornbread and enjoy!
