In the bottom of a Dutch oven, cook the bacon lardons until a lot of the fat starts to render out.

Add the medium purple onion and cook for a couple of minutes until it starts to get tender.

Stir in the two cans of green beans.

Add half a teaspoon of garlic powder, half a teaspoon of pepper, and half a teaspoon of salt.

Add a third of a cup of packed brown sugar.

Stir in a tablespoon of soy sauce and a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar.

Move everything around to ensure the sugar starts to dissolve.

Once the sugar is dissolved, put the lid on the Dutch oven and cook for about 20 minutes on medium-high heat.

Take the lid off and let a lot of the moisture evaporate out.

0.33 cup packed brown sugar
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
