Directions

  1. 1In the bottom of a Dutch oven, cook the bacon lardons until a lot of the fat starts to render out.
  2. 2Add the medium purple onion and cook for a couple of minutes until it starts to get tender.
  3. 3Stir in the two cans of green beans.
  4. 4Add half a teaspoon of garlic powder, half a teaspoon of pepper, and half a teaspoon of salt.
  5. 5Add a third of a cup of packed brown sugar.
  6. 6Stir in a tablespoon of soy sauce and a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar.
  7. 7Move everything around to ensure the sugar starts to dissolve.
  8. 8Once the sugar is dissolved, put the lid on the Dutch oven and cook for about 20 minutes on medium-high heat.
  9. 9Take the lid off and let a lot of the moisture evaporate out.
