Vodka Sauce

Directions

  1. 1Coat the bottom of a pan with extra virgin olive oil.
  2. 2Add one medium diced onion, 2 cloves of garlic and 5 pieces of basil to the pan.
  3. 3Let the onions become tender, then add a little bit of salt and pepper.
  4. 4Add four slices of chopped prosciutto to the pan.
  5. 5Add half a cup of vodka and let it burn off a little bit.
  6. 6Add one can of whole peeled tomatoes and one can of crushed tomatoes.
  7. 7Crush the whole tomatoes with a potato masher.
  8. 8Add 2 tablespoons of sugar.
  9. 9Let it cook for about 30 minutes.
  10. 10Add half a teaspoon of salt and pepper, and a quarter teaspoon of red pepper flakes.
  11. 11Add a quarter cup of Locatelli Romano cheese.
  12. 12Simmer for 5 minutes.
  13. 13Add one cup of heavy whipping cream and stir.
