Swedish Meatballs

Directions

  1. 1Combine 1 pound of ground pork and 1 pound of ground beef in a large mixing bowl.
  2. 2Add 1 egg, 1/4 cup of milk, 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper to the meat mixture.
  3. 3Dice one onion finely.
  4. 4Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. 5Sauté the diced onion in the butter until caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.
  6. 6Spread the caramelized onions on a baking sheet to cool.
  7. 7Add the cooled caramelized onions to the meat mixture.
  8. 8Mix all ingredients thoroughly with a spatula or your hands until well combined.
  9. 9Form the meat mixture into small, uniform meatballs.
