Drop a three-pound chuck roast into your slow cooker.

Give the roast a smack.

Start off with one cup of beef broth.

Add one cup of soy sauce or coco aminos.

Add a half a cup of hoisin sauce.

Add a third cup of rice vinegar.

Add a quarter cup of honey.

Add two tablespoons of brown sugar.

Add one tablespoon toasted sesame oil.

Add a pinch of red pepper flakes, if desired.

Add about four or five minced garlic cloves.

Whisk the sauce ingredients together.

Pour the sauce all over the meat.

Put the lid on the slow cooker.

Set your slow cooker to low for four to six hours, or until the meat falls apart.

Shred the beef, taking it out of the liquid as it is hot.

Once all the beef is shredded, put it back into the sauce.

Serve over jasmine rice, pour some sauce on top, and add some green onions.

Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.

Tips
For a thicker sauce, use a cornstarch slurry.
For crispy bits, put the shredded meat on a baking sheet and broil for a few minutes.
