Directions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. 2Combine all ingredients except chips in a good food processor, and blend until completely smooth.
  3. 3Stir in the chips.
  4. 4Pour the mixture into a greased 8x8 pan.
  5. 5Optional: sprinkle extra chocolate chips over the top.
  6. 6Cook the black bean brownies 15-18 minutes.
  7. 7Let cool at least 10 minutes before trying to cut.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups black beans (1 15-oz can, drained and rinsed very well)
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 0.5 cup quick oats
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.33 cup pure maple syrup, honey, or agave
  • pinch uncut stevia
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 0.25 cup coconut or vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips
  • 0.66 cup chocolate chips
  • optional more chips, for presentation

Tips

  • If the brownies still look a bit undercooked, you can place them in the fridge overnight to firm up.
