Pour 1 can of Dr. Pepper into the crockpot.

Add the applesauce to the crockpot.

Add 1/2 sliced onion to the crockpot.

Add 1/8 tsp of pepper.

Remove the membrane from the racks of ribs using a paper towel.

Pat dry the ribs with a paper towel.

Cut the ribs into manageable pieces.

Place the first rack of ribs into the crockpot.

Repeat the beginning steps (add onion, pepper, applesauce).

Add the second can of Dr. Pepper.

Top the ribs with 1 cup of BBQ sauce.

Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 8 hours.

Carefully remove the cooked ribs from the crockpot and place them on a tray lined with aluminum foil.

Glaze the ribs with additional BBQ sauce.

Broil the ribs for 10 minutes.

2 racks of ribs
