Gingerbread Martini

Directions

  1. 1In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, bring ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and 1 1/2 cups water to a boil.
  2. 2Reduce heat to medium and cook, stirring occasionally, until liquid is reduced by about half, about 20 minutes.
  3. 3Add sugar and stir until dissolved.
  4. 4Let cool about 10 minutes.
  5. 5Strain sugar mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a small bowl.
  6. 6Place crushed cookies on a small shallow plate.
  7. 7Pour some gingerbread syrup onto another shallow plate.
  8. 8Dip rim of a martini glass into gingerbread syrup, then dip into cookies to coat.
  9. 9In a cocktail shaker, combine ice, Baileys, vodka, and Kahlúa.
  10. 10Cover and vigorously shake for about 20 seconds.
  11. 11Strain into the prepared glass.
  12. 12Garnish with a generous dollop of whipped cream.
  13. 13Gently place a gingerbread person in cocktail.

  • 1.5 cup water
  • 0.5 c crushed gingerbread cookies
  • Ice
  • 1 oz Baileys Irish Cream
  • 1 oz vodka
  • 1 oz Kahlúa
  • Whipped cream
  • Gingerbread cookies

Tips

  • Gingerbread simple syrup is also amazing to add into coffee or tea.
  • Syrup can be made 1 month ahead and stored in an airtight container and refrigerated.
  • If you like your drinks sweet, add some gingerbread syrup to the cocktail shaker.
