Directions

  1. 1Start by tossing a 3lb chuck roast into your crock pot. If you're feeling frisky, you can brown it first.
  2. 2Cut the roast in half and spread it out a little bit.
  3. 3Grab a mixing bowl and add 1.5 cups of ketchup, 1/4 cup of barbecue sauce, and 1/4 cup of brown sugar.
  4. 4Add 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.
  5. 5Add 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes if you're feeling spicy.
  6. 6Get your tiny whisk and whisk all of this till it's beautifully combined.
  7. 7Once combined, pick it up and pour it all over your roast.
  8. 8Put the lid on, set your crockpot to low heat for 8 to 10 hours and then just wait.
  9. 9Once that time is up, take the lid off, get that same bowl from earlier.
  10. 10Throw the meat in there.
  11. 11Grab two forks and shred the meat.
  12. 12Pour the shredded meat back into the juices it's been cooking in all day.
  13. 13Get it nice and coated.
  14. 14Put the lid back on for 10 or 15 minutes.
  15. 15Take the lid off, get a toasted bun with mustard and pickles.
  16. 16Pile some of that meat on it high.
  17. 17If you have jalapenos in your pocket, put those on top as well.
  18. 18Top up the bun and pick up the sandwich and put it inside.
