Homemade Chocolate Sauce

Directions

  1. 1Combine maple syrup and water in a medium saucepan.
  2. 2Warm over medium heat until just simmering.
  3. 3Whisk in cocoa powder until it's totally smooth (it will take a minute or two to get all of the cocoa completely incorporated).
  4. 4Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.
  5. 5Pour through a fine mesh sieve into a glass jar.
  6. 6Keep it in the fridge for up to three weeks.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 1.75 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract

Tips

  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
  • The ingredients will settle a bit while in the refrigerator, so make sure to stir or shake the container before using.
