Peel and rinse 1 lb of tomatillo.

Place the tomatillos on the comal to get charred on all sides.

Add five garlic cloves to the blender.

Remove the stem and seeds from two chiles California, rip them into pieces, and throw them in the blender.

Add about five chile de árbol to the blender.

Put the chile de árbol on the comal for only a few seconds until they get a little burned but not too burned.

Add them to the blender.

Add about half a cup of leftover chicken broth or regular water to the blender.

Add some salt to your liking.

Blend until smooth.

When the tomatillos are charred on all sides, add them to the blender.

Blend or pulse slowly to a chunky consistency.

0.5 cup chicken broth
water
to your liking salt

Tips
Do not overdo roasting the chile de árbol or they will taste bitter.
Do not blend for too long; you want a chunky consistency.
