Directions

  1. 1Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. 2Melt a whole stick of butter in a casserole dish in the oven while it preheats.
  3. 3Dice strawberries into tiny pieces.
  4. 4Put the diced strawberries in a bowl.
  5. 5Add some sugar and the juice of half a lemon to the strawberries.
  6. 6Swirl the strawberry mixture and let it sit to the side.
  7. 7In a big bowl, add 2 and 1/2 cups of flour.
  8. 8Add 4 teaspoons of baking powder to the flour.
  9. 9Add 1 tablespoon of sugar to the flour mixture.
  10. 10Add 2 cups of buttermilk to the dry ingredients and swirl it up.
  11. 11When the dough is good and sticky, add in most of the strawberries, saving a little for the top.
  12. 12Let the melted butter cool a little bit.
  13. 13Add the biscuit dough to the casserole dish with the cooled butter.
  14. 14Smooth the biscuits out.
  15. 15Cut the dough into nine biscuits.
  16. 16Sprinkle the rest of the strawberries and a little more sugar on top of the biscuits.
  17. 17Bake for 30 minutes.
  18. 18While the biscuits cool down, make the icing.
  19. 19For the icing, start with powdered sugar, a capful of vanilla, and a little bit of milk.
  20. 20Swirl the icing ingredients together.
  21. 21Drizzle the icing on the biscuits.
