Directions

  1. 1Add two cups of milk into a pot, but not completely, save about half a cup.
  2. 2Add three tablespoons of sugar, orange and lemon peel and half a teaspoon of cinnamon. Mix well and cook.
  3. 3Cut the bread into squares or rectangles.
  4. 4Once the milk is boiling, take it out of the pot, and add the other half a cup of milk that you saved.
  5. 5Strain the milk and let it cool in the fridge.
  6. 6Pour the milk mix onto a plate and add the pieces of bread to it. Make sure the bread is well soaked.
  7. 7In a new plate, add two eggs and a pinch of salt and beat.
  8. 8Coat the bread pieces with the egg mix.
  9. 9Pour a bit of oil onto a plancha and place the coated bread pieces on top. It’s important for the pan to be hot so the Torrijas don’t stick.
