1Sauté diced onion and minced garlic in olive oil until soft.
2Add ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks until browned. Drain any excess fat.
3Stir in beef broth, heavy cream, diced tomatoes, dried basil, and oregano. Bring to a simmer.
4Add shell pasta, stir well to coat in the sauce. Cover and cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce has thickened.
5Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
