MINECRAFT CAKE

Directions

  1. 1Pour 90g of milk into a bowl.
  2. 2Add 90g of vegetable oil to the bowl.
  3. 3Sift 100g of cake flour into the bowl.
  4. 4Whisk the mixture until smooth.
  5. 5Separate 8 egg yolks from their whites and add the yolks to the mixture.
  6. 6Add a splash of vanilla essence to the mixture.
  7. 7Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
  8. 8Add 100g of sugar to the 8 egg whites in a separate bowl.
  9. 9Add 7g of lemon juice to the egg whites and sugar.
  10. 10Whip the egg whites until medium peaks form.
  11. 11Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the cake batter.
  12. 12Pour the cake batter into a 9"x9" pan.
  13. 13Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 25 minutes.
  14. 14After the timer, turn the oven off and leave the cake inside for 5 minutes before taking it out.
  15. 15Wash the strawberries.
  16. 16Skin the strawberries.
  17. 17Remove the parchment paper from the baked cake.
  18. 18Cut off the edges of the cake to form a perfect square.
  19. 19In a clean bowl, add 1 block of cream cheese.
  20. 20Add a splash of heavy cream to the cream cheese.
  21. 21Sift 100g of powdered sugar into the bowl.
  22. 22Mix until you get a smooth and fluffy cream cheese icing.
  23. 23Frost the cake evenly with the cream cheese icing.
  24. 24Freeze the frosted cake for 15 minutes.
  25. 25Cut the cake into 2.5"x2.5" squares.
  26. 26Pipe additional cream cheese icing on the sides of the cake squares using Wilton tip #47.
  27. 27Decorate the top of the cake squares with small cut strawberry pieces to create a Minecraft block design.
  28. 28Enjoy the cake with milk.

Tips

  • Do not open oven door while cake is baking, it will release the steam and the cake will deflate, wait until both timers end.
  • When removing the strawberries, skin them to prepare them for decorating the cake.
  • Use Wilton tip #47 for the decoration on the sides of the cake with the cream cheese frosting.
  • Make sure to freeze the cake for 15 minutes after the first frosting, before cutting it into squares.
  • Do not cut the cake into square shapes before the first frosting process, as the cake will break easily.
  • The cake is delicate, handle with care.
  • Gently fold the egg whites into the mixture to keep it fluffy.
  • After baking, turn the oven off and leave the cake inside for 5 minutes before taking it out.
  • Make sure to measure ingredients accurately for best results.
  • Whip egg whites until medium peaks are formed.
  • Separate egg whites for later use.
