Shengole

Directions

  1. 1Make a coarse paste of coriander, green chili, garlic, cumin seeds and ginger.
  2. 2In a bowl add sorghum millet (jowar), whole wheat flour, gram flour (besan), carrom seeds, turmeric powder, salt and oil.
  3. 3Add the ground paste and water to make a dough.
  4. 4Take a small portion from the dough and give it any shape.
  5. 5Heat oil in a pot.
  6. 6Add cumin and mustard seeds and let them crackle.
  7. 7Add turmeric and the remaining ground paste.
  8. 8Add coriander powder and chili powder and saute well.
  9. 9Add water and salt and let it boil.
  10. 10Add the prepared shengole.
  11. 11Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes.
  12. 12Garnish with coriander leaves.

Ingredients

  • Handful Fresh coriander leaves
  • 3 Green chilli
  • 7 Garlic pods
  • 2 Tbsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 2 Tbsp Water
  • 1 Cup Sorghum millet (Jowar)
  • 0.5 Cup Whole wheat flour
  • 3 Tbsp Gram flour (Besan)
  • 1 Tsp Carrom seeds
  • 0.5 Tsp Turmeric powder
  • To Taste Salt
  • 3 Tbsp Oil
  • for preparing Dough & Gravy Water
  • 1 Tbsp Coarse chilli powder
  • 1 Tbsp Maharashtrian Goda Masala
  • 1 Tbsp Coriander powder
  • for garnishing Fresh coriander leaves

Tips

  • Garnish with a Tsp Ghee on Top.
  • If Goda Masala is not available, follow the steps to prepare the recipe.
