Pork Tocino Homemade

Directions

  1. 1Add 1 tablespoon of baking soda to a bowl of water and mix until dissolved.
  2. 2Pour the baking soda mixture over the thinly sliced pork kasim.
  3. 3Mix the pork well with the baking soda mixture.
  4. 4Add about 1 tablespoon of red food coloring to the pork. This step is optional.
  5. 5Add garlic powder to the pork.
  6. 6Add about 8 ounces of soy sauce to the pork.
  7. 7Add 1.5 cups of brown sugar (or dark brown, muscovado, or white sugar) to the pork.
  8. 8Mix all the ingredients together thoroughly until the pork is well-coated.
  9. 9Pour 250 ml of pineapple juice into the pork mixture.
  10. 10Add about 200 ml of Sprite (or Sierra Mist/Mountain Dew) to the mixture slowly as it will bubble due to the baking soda.
  11. 11Marinate the pork for more than two hours.
  12. 12Boil the marinated pork tocino in a pan before frying.
  13. 13Fry the pork tocino until cooked.
  14. 14Cut the cooked pork tocino into smaller pieces.
  15. 15Taste the pork tocino.

  • 1.5 kilo pork kasim (thinly sliced)

  • 8 ounces soy sauce
  • 1.5 cup brown sugar
  • 250 ml pineapple juice
  • 200 ml Sprite/Sierra Mist/Mountain Dew

Tips
