In a bowl, add the chicken pieces and all of the marinade ingredients. Mix well and marinate for at least an hour, or overnight for best results.
Grab some skewers and pierce through the chicken pieces. Place them onto the air fryer tray and cook for 18 minutes at 200c, turning halfway through.
While the chicken is cooking, start the makhani sauce. In a large wok or pan, on medium heat, add the oil. Once hot, add the bay leaf, cardamom pods and cinnamon stick. Let that sizzle for a minute.
Add the garlic and ginger, and sauté for a further 1 minute. Add the tomatoes and turn the heat up, keep stirring until half of the water from the tomatoes has dried up.
Add the butter, remaining spices, honey and stir a few minutes, then add the double cream and simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove the chicken from the skewers and add them to the sauce. Stir and simmer for a further 10 minutes.
Garnish and serve with rice, naan and popadoms!
