2Add two cups of soaked red beans to the Crock-Pot. The beans have been soaked for over 5 hours.
3Add celery, onion, garlic, and two bay leaves to the pot.
4Add Slap Ya Mama seasoning to taste.
5Add red pepper flakes, sparingly as the Slap Ya Mama is spicy.
6Add garlic and onion powder.
7Add two tablespoonfuls of white granulated sugar.
8Turn the Crock-Pot on high.
9Add warm tap water to cover the ingredients. Do not use chicken or beef broth. The beans should cook for at least 6 hours until tender with a thick broth, but not mushy.

Tips
Soak the beans for over 5 hours before cooking.
Do not add too many red pepper flakes, as Slap Ya Mama is already spicy.
Add enough water to cover the ingredients, but not too much to avoid mushy beans.
The ham hock/smoked bones will add saltiness, so no additional salt is needed.
