Homemade Doner Kebab

Directions

  1. 1Grate the onion.
  2. 2Squeeze out the liquid from the grated onion.
  3. 3Add the drained onions to a bowl.
  4. 4Add a mixture of ground beef and lamb to the bowl with the onions.
  5. 5Add a spoon of Greek yogurt to the meat mixture.
  6. 6Add garlic powder, smoked paprika, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, and black pepper to the mixture.
  7. 7Drizzle a little olive oil over the ingredients.
  8. 8Mix all the ingredients thoroughly.
  9. 9Place the meat mixture between two pieces of parchment paper.
  10. 10Flatten the meat as much as possible using a rolling pin.
  11. 11Roll up the flattened meat within the parchment paper.
  12. 12Place the rolled meat onto a baking tray.
  13. 13Bake the meat at 450°F for 10 minutes.
  14. 14Remove the cooked meat from the parchment paper.
  15. 15Rip the meat into smaller pieces.
  16. 16Use a kitchen torch to add extra flavor to the meat (optional).
  17. 17Place a soft pita on a cutting board.
  18. 18Spread yogurt sauce on the pita.
  19. 19Add onions and sliced tomatoes to the pita.
  20. 20Finish by adding the cooked meat to the pita.
  21. 21Roll up the pita to assemble the doner kebab.

Tips

  • The thinner you roll the meat, the better it will be.
