Teriyaki Beef Sticks

Directions

  1. 1Combine ground beef and all seasonings in a large mixing bowl and mix well.
  2. 2Place the meat mixture on a sheet of parchment paper, top with another sheet, and roll it out into a thin layer roughly the size of a half-sheet pan with a 2-3mm thickness.
  3. 3Score the meat into strips using a knife.
  4. 4Place on a half-sheet pan, cover, and chill in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
  5. 5Remove from the refrigerator and re-score the meat along the previous lines.
  6. 6Bake in an oven at 275 degrees for 60 minutes.
  7. 7Allow to cool, then tear the beef strips apart and blot with a paper towel.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tsp Morton Tender Quick
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp coarse black pepper
  • 1/2 tbsp liquid smoke
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil

Tips

  • You can substitute liquid aminos for soy sauce.
  • You can score the meat to any width preference; 2-3 centimeters is recommended to match store-bought beef sticks.
  • Use either a lid or plastic wrap to cover the meat while chilling in the refrigerator.
  • Blot the finished beef sticks with a paper towel before serving.
