Marinate the tofu with tamari or soy sauce, olive oil, maple syrup, smoked paprika, garlic powder and cornstarch.

Bake the tofu until golden brown.

While tofu bakes, fry crushed garlic in olive oil in a pan.

Defrost frozen peas.

Add cooked pasta and peas to the pan with the garlic.

Add a ladle of pasta water to the pan and mix.

Mix in white miso paste.

Add nutritional yeast, and stir gently to emulsify.

Top with the baked tofu and stir to combine.

Serve with black pepper and chilli flakes.

300 g extra firm tofu
2 tbsp tamari or soy sauce
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
0.5 tbsp maple syrup
2 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tbsp cornstarch
4 cloves crushed garlic
200 g frozen peas
200 g dried pasta of choice, cooked
1 tbsp white miso paste
80 ml salty pasta water
3 tbsp nutritional yeast
0 black pepper
0 chilli flakes
