Cut the mutton into pieces and place them in a baking dish.

Slice the red onions.

Slice the tomatoes.

Slice the green chilies.

Chop the coriander.

Combine cloves, cardamom pods, and cinnamon sticks on a plate.

Grind the spices in a mixer.

Heat oil in a large pot.

Add coriander and sliced onions to the pot and cook until browned.

Add red chili powder and salt to the pot.

Add the mutton pieces to the pot.

Add water to the pot.

Add curd to the pot and mix well.

Add sliced tomatoes and green chilies to the pot.

Add ginger garlic paste and the ground spices to the pot.

Add water to the pot and mix well.

Add the rice to the pot and stir.

Cover the pot with a lid and place a heavy pot on top.

Heat the top of the lid with a torch.

Remove the lid and serve the biryani on a banana leaf.

Pour yogurt over the biryani.
