Pulse the gluten-free bread into fine crumbs using a food processor.

Grate the onion and mince the garlic.

In a large bowl, combine the beef mince, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper.

Shape the mixture into meatballs.

Coat the meatballs in gluten-free plain flour.

Fry the meatballs in olive oil until golden brown.

Simmer the meatballs in a sauce made from crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, salt, pepper, cinnamon, and boiling water until tender.

Optionally thicken the sauce by mixing cornflour with ice-cold water and stirring it in.

1 large onion, grated or finely processed
7 large garlic clove, minced or finely processed
5 slice gluten-free bread, pulsed into crumbs
2 tsp dried Greek oregano
1 tsp cumin
1 1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 cup gluten-free plain flour, for coating
olive oil, for frying
2 x 400 g canned crushed tomatoes
2 heaped tbsp tomato paste
2 tsp dried Greek oregano
2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp cinnamon
3 l boiling water
1 tsp cornflour (optional)
2 tbsp ice-cold water (optional)
