Add miso paste to a pot of hot water.

Add chicken stock powder to the pot.

Add soy sauce to the pot.

Add spring onion and grated ginger to the pot.

Add rice to the rice cooker.

Add water to the rice.

Chop garlic.

Chop spring onion.

Cut broccoli into florets.

Add broccoli to a pot with water to boil.

Add chicken thighs to a large bowl.

Add chopped garlic, ginger and spring onion to the chicken.

Add miso paste to the chicken.

Add soy sauce to the chicken.

Add Chinese 5 spice to the chicken.

Add honey to the chicken.

Add salt to the chicken.

Add rice vinegar to the chicken.

Mix all the ingredients well by hand with a glove.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and marinate.

Cook the chicken in a pan until golden and cooked through.

Remove chicken from the pan and add chopped spring onion, garlic, and ginger to the pan with the remaining oil to fry until crispy and golden.

Place cooked rice in a bowl.

Add the cooked chicken to the bowl with the rice.

Add the crispy spring onion, garlic, and ginger on top of the chicken.

Add steamed broccoli to the bowl.

Pour the miso broth over the rice and chicken.

1 tsp Miso paste
0.5 tsp Chicken stock powder
1 Spring onion
0.5 tsp Grated ginger
0.5 tsp Sugar
1 tbsp Miso paste
1 tbsp Soy sauce
1 tsp Rice vinegar
1 tsp Chinese 5 spice
1 tsp Honey
2 Garlic cloves
1 tsp Fresh ginger

Tips
Marinate your chicken for at least 30 min (or overnight for max flavor). Then pan-sear or bake in the oven until golden.
Add everything to hot water, stir well, and let it simmer till you run out of patience.
Fry spring onion, garlic & ginger in a little oil until crispy and golden. Add on top for crunch and extra flavor.
Serve with rice + veggies of your choice (I used steamed brocoli).
