Chocolate Chip Cookies

Directions

  1. 1Add butter to your fry pan and melt over low/medium heat, stirring consistently.
  2. 2The butter will start to foam, keep stirring until the butter turns a golden brown/amber colour.
  3. 3Carefully transfer the butter into a heat safe dish and let cool for 10-15 minutes.
  4. 4In a bowl, whisk cooled brown butter, light brown sugar and caster sugar until combined.
  5. 5Whisk in egg and vanilla extract.
  6. 6Fold in flour and baking soda.
  7. 7Fold in choc chips.
  8. 8Take 1-2 heaped tbsp of cookie dough (approx 50g-60g) and roll into a ball. Add some choc chips on top of the cookie dough ball for extra chocolaty goodness.
  9. 9Chill cookie dough balls for 1-2 hours.
  10. 10Preheat oven to 160C.
  11. 11Bake at 160C for 14-17 minutes.

  • 120 g caster sugar
  • 60 g light brown sugar
  • 1 x egg (room temperature)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 200 g plain flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Tips

  • The brown butter adds a subtle nutty flavour that pairs perfectly with the sweetness of the cookies
  • Adjust the time to how gooey you like your cookies.
