Add diced apples and milk to the blender.

Blend the apples and milk until smooth.

Add the eggs, condensed milk, and cornstarch to the blender.

Blend everything again for a minute until well combined.

In a pan, add the sugar and spread evenly.

Melt the sugar on medium heat, stirring carefully as it starts to melt.

Add water little by little and mix carefully.

Pour the caramel into the flan mold and spread it to the edges.

Cut a few apple slices and place them on the caramel base.

Pour the flan mixture over the caramelized apples.

Cover the mold with aluminum foil, making sure to seal it well around the edges.

Place the mold inside a larger pot.

Add hot water to the pot until it reaches halfway up the mold.

Cover the pot and cook over medium heat for 30 minutes.

Turn off the heat, remove the aluminum foil carefully, and let the steam escape.

Check if it is cooked by inserting a toothpick.

Remove the mold from the pot, let it cool, and then refrigerate.

Tips
Covering the flan with aluminum foil shortens the cooking time and prevents the top surface from burning.
Adding water to the caramel makes it more fluid and spreads more easily in the mold.
Use hot or cold water to bake in a bain-marie.
