Peanut Brittle

Directions

  1. 1Add one cup of white granulated sugar to a microwave-safe bowl.
  2. 2Add half a cup of corn syrup to the bowl.
  3. 3Microwave on high for three minutes, until bubbly.
  4. 4Stir the sugar mixture.
  5. 5Add one cup of peanuts, one tablespoon of butter, and an eighth of a teaspoon of salt to the bowl.
  6. 6Microwave for another three to four minutes until golden brown, reaching about 300 degrees Fahrenheit/150 degrees Celcius.
  7. 7Pour in a teaspoon of vanilla extract and three-quarters of a teaspoon of baking soda.
  8. 8Spread the peanut brittle onto a baking sheet lined with a silicone mat.
  9. 9Let the brittle sit and cool until hardened.
  10. 10Break the brittle into pieces of your preferred size.

  • 0.75 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
