Get rid of store-bought English muffins. In a stand mixer, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
In a saucepan, heat milk and melt butter. Add to the stand mixer and mix for 5 minutes with the dough hook.
Let the dough rest for 20 minutes until doubled in size.
Shape the dough to about 1.5-2 cm thickness and use a cookie cutter to cut out discs.
Place discs on a baking tray and let them prove for another 20 minutes until doubled in size.
Cook the English muffins on a flat pan over low-medium heat with semolina. Cook until both sides are golden brown. If the inside feels slightly raw, cook in a hot oven for 5-10 minutes.
