Directions

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together.

Dice up cold butter and add it to the flour mixture.

Cut the butter into the flour until you see coarse crumbs.

Add blueberries (or mix-ins you prefer).

Combine heavy cream, one egg, and vanilla extract; beat together with a fork.

Add cream mixture to the flour mixture and fold just until moistened.

Pull the dough together, flatten it into a 1 inch thick disc.

Cut straight down into eight wedges.

Transfer to a baking sheet, brush with cream and sprinkle with sugar.

Refrigerate until ready to bake.

Bake at 400 until tops are golden and centers are baked through.

While those cool, make your glaze: combine powdered sugar, lemon zest, and fresh squeezed lemon juice.

Drizzle over your cooled scones and enjoy!
