Directions

  1. 1Add the active dry yeast to the warm water and let it sit for a few minutes until foamy.
  2. 2Add in the rest of the ingredients: melted butter, salt, sugar, egg, and flour.
  3. 3Turn the mixer on and knead the dough for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. 4Place the dough in a greased bowl.
  5. 5Flip the dough over in the bowl.
  6. 6Cover the bowl and let the dough double in size for about 30 to 45 minutes for the first rise.
  7. 7Punch down the dough.
  8. 8Make dough balls, measuring about 55 grams each (makes about 35 rolls).
  9. 9Smooth a pinch of dough to the middle, push it through your thumb and first finger until the top is smooth, then pinch the bottom to seal it shut.
  10. 10Cover the formed rolls and let them have the second rise for about another 30 to 45 minutes.
  11. 11Preheat oven to 350°F.
  12. 12Bake for 22-25 minutes until golden brown and soft.
