Directions
1
Add 8 tablespoons of melted butter, 3/4 cup of sugar, 2 eggs, and 2 teaspoons of vanilla to a large mixing bowl.
2
Mix until it's all whipped up.
3
Add 3/4 cup of milk and mix.
4
Add 1 and 3/4 teaspoons of baking powder, a pinch of salt, and 2 cups of all-purpose flour.
5
Mix until it's well combined.
6
In a separate bowl, combine 3 tablespoons of melted butter, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1/3 cup of brown sugar for the cinnamon swirl mixture.
7
Mix the cinnamon swirl mixture and set aside.
8
Line a 12-count cupcake tin with liners.
9
Scoop a little batter into each cupcake liner and add a half teaspoon of the cinnamon swirl mixture on top.
10
Use a toothpick to swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter.
11
Repeat the process of adding batter and cinnamon swirl mixture, swirling it, until the cupcakes are about 3/4 full.
12
Bake the cupcakes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 22 to 24 minutes.
13
While the cupcakes are baking, prepare the brown butter by adding two sticks of salted butter to a pan.
14
Put the butter on high heat until it turns brown.
15
Place the brown butter in the refrigerator to set.
16
Once the cupcakes are done, take them out and let them cool.
17
Once the brown butter is set, scoop it all into a large mixing bowl, making sure to get all the brown bits.
18
Whip the brown butter until it turns white.
19
Add 2 teaspoons of vanilla, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, and 3 cups of powdered sugar.
20
Mix until well combined.
21
Add a little bit of milk, about a tablespoon at a time, until you get the right icing consistency.
22
Scoop the icing onto the cooled cupcakes.
