Chocolate Chip Sugar Cookies

Directions

  1. 1Cream together two sticks of butter, 1/2 a cup of sugar, and 1/2 a cup of brown sugar.
  2. 2Scrape down the sides of the bowl to make sure everything is fully incorporated.
  3. 3Add 1 egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  4. 4Once fully combined, turn down the speed of your mixer and add in 2 and 3/4 cup of flour, 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1/2 a teaspoon of salt.
  5. 5Once the mixture begins to come together, sprinkle in 3/4 cup of mini chocolate chips.
  6. 6Mix just until a dough begins to form.
  7. 7Transfer your dough from your bowl onto your cutting board or mat.
  8. 8Knead by hand until a nice dough forms.
  9. 9Form the dough into a disc before chilling.
  10. 10Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator for about two hours to chill and set up.
  11. 11Once it's had a chance to chill, roll it out to about 3/8 of an inch to 1/2 an inch thickness.
  12. 12Chill them one more time while your oven is preheating.
  13. 13Bake at 340 degrees Fahrenheit for about 18 minutes.
  14. 14Decorate the cookies with glaze icing.
