Directions

  1. 1Make the samosa dough by combining all-purpose flour, semolina, carom seeds, powdered sugar, ghee, water and salt.
  2. 2Mix the dough until it resembles breadcrumbs.
  3. 3Knead the dough into a smooth ball, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  4. 4Make the Italian samosa filling by heating oil in a pan.
  5. 5Add chopped garlic and sauté until the raw smell goes away.
  6. 6Add sliced onions, chopped capsicum, chilli flakes, oregano, and thyme and sauté for 15-20 seconds on high flame.
  7. 7Reduce heat, add tomato ketchup, chopped cheese, and black pepper powder.
  8. 8Stir well and remove from heat. Let cool down to room temperature.
  9. 9Roll out small balls of dough into thin, oblong discs and cut each disc in half.
  10. 10Apply water to the edges of each disc, and fold into a cone shape.
  11. 11Fill each cone with the Italian samosa filling.
  12. 12Fry the samosas in oil on low flame for 10-12 minutes.

  • 0 Black Pepper Powder
  • 0 Salt
  • 0 Water
  • 0 Oil

Tips

  • Do not add all the water at once when kneading the dough.
  • Do not overcrowd the oil when frying samosas.
  • Fry the samosas slowly on low flame for 10-12 minutes without stirring vigorously.
  • Use a slotted spoon to remove the samosas from the oil.
  • Serve hot with ketchup, mayonnaise, or chutney
