Put the pot on the stove and set the temperature to medium-low.
Warm the milk to about 110 degrees Fahrenheit, but do not boil it.
Add two and three-fourths of a cup of all-purpose flour to a bowl through a strainer.
Add three tablespoons of sugar to the bowl.
Add two and a quarter teaspoons of instant yeast to the bowl.
Mix the dry ingredients together.
Add one egg to the bowl.
Add four tablespoons of melted butter to the bowl.
Add three-fourths of a cup of warm milk to the bowl.
Mix the ingredients until a dough starts to take shape.
Flour your surface.
Transfer your dough to the floured surface.
Knead the dough for about two minutes or until it is smooth by folding edge to edge and driving through the middle, then rotating 90 degrees and repeating.
Once the dough is smooth, tuck the sides under to form a ball.
Place the dough ball back in your bowl and cover it with a towel.
Place the covered bowl in your oven with the oven light on for 30 to 45 minutes to rise.
Add a stick of softened butter to a bowl.
Add three-fourths of a cup of brown sugar to the bowl.
Add about two tablespoons of cinnamon to the bowl.
Mix the filling ingredients until you have a luscious brown paste.
Once your dough has risen, flour your surface again.
Transfer your risen dough to the floured surface.
Lightly dust the dough with flour.
Roll out the dough into a 12x18 inch rectangle, using your hands to help it get the rectangular shape.
Take your filling and gently spread it all over the top of the rolled-out dough.
Optionally, sprinkle a little bit of flaky salt around for a salted caramel flavor.
Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other.
Measure out the roll for 12 medium or 9 big guys.
Take some dental floss and pull it tight, go underneath your roll, pull the dental floss up and cross it like you're tying your shoe, and then pull to cut the cinnamon bun.
Take a cold stick of butter and grease the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish.
Place the cut cinnamon buns in the baking dish, touching each other length-wise but not width-wise.
Bake in the middle rack of your oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 20 to 30 minutes, or until the top is golden and flaky.
Add a cup of powdered sugar to a bowl.
Add about two or three tablespoons of milk to the powdered sugar.
Mix the glaze ingredients until it's smooth and consistent.
Once the buns come out of the oven, hit them with your glaze.
