Directions

  1. 1Add 1 cup of warm milk to a measuring cup.
  2. 2Add 2 1/2 teaspoons of active dry yeast to the milk.
  3. 3Add 2 tablespoons of sugar to the milk mixture.
  4. 4Mix the ingredients together.
  5. 5Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes.
  6. 6Add half a stick of melted butter to a mixing bowl.
  7. 7Add one egg to the mixing bowl.
  8. 8Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the mixing bowl.
  9. 9Pour the yeast mixture into the mixing bowl.
  10. 10Combine all ingredients with a dough hook.
  11. 11Slowly add 3 cups of flour while mixing.
  12. 12Let the dough knead for about 10 minutes.
  13. 13Lightly flour a surface.
  14. 14Transfer the dough to the floured surface.
  15. 15Knead the dough by hand for a couple of minutes until it forms a smooth ball.
  16. 16Add a little oil to a bowl and spread it evenly.
  17. 17Place the dough ball in the oiled bowl.
  18. 18Cover the bowl and let the dough rise for one hour.
  19. 19Punch the air out of the risen dough.
  20. 20Cut the dough into 12 equal pieces, optionally using a scale.
  21. 21Roll each piece of dough into a little ball by folding over the edges and rolling.
  22. 22Add the formed dough balls to a greased baking dish.
  23. 23Cover the baking dish and let the dough balls rest for another 30 minutes.
  24. 24Bake the dinner rolls at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15 minutes.
  25. 25Remove the rolls from the oven.
  26. 26Brush the tops of the baked rolls with melted butter.
