Tips

  • Use a hand mixer to cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture. It will be very dry, just keep mixing.
  • Form into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill in the fridge for an hour.
  • Grate ice cold chocolate using the fine side of a cheese grater.
  • Use a ruler and sharp knife to make half inch marks along the sides of the dough.
  • Score the top using your sharp knife without cutting all the way through.
  • Brush the sides with egg white to act as an adhesive.
  • Bake at 325 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
  • Use cookie cutters to cut out additional shapes from the extra dough.
  • Pipe the outline around each cookie and then fill them in using the flooding technique. For the chocolate star, use purple. For the chocolate circle, use peach. For the vanilla circle, use yellow. For the fluted round, use pink.
  • Add the design details on top to look like the cookies from the movie. The smaller pink cookies will be iced with red royal icing and say "Eat Me". The larger vanilla cookies will be iced with white stripes and purple on top and will say "Try Me". The chocolate peach cookies will have white details along the outside and teal writing on the inside that says "Take One". The chocolate stars will be piped with brown royal icing and say "Eat Me" as well and be decorated with a little bit of darker purple dots
