Easy Broiled Salmon

Directions

  1. 1Place the salmon on a sheet tray lined with parchment paper or foil.
  2. 2Mince the garlic cloves using a garlic press.
  3. 3Slice the lemon in half.
  4. 4Squeeze both lemon halves all over the salmon to integrate citrus flavor.
  5. 5Add the finely minced garlic to the top of the salmon and rub it in with your hands.
  6. 6Drizzle olive oil all over the top of the salmon.
  7. 7Season the salmon with sea salt and fresh cracked black pepper.
  8. 8Set the salmon aside for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
  9. 9Pour 1 cup of red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot) into a measuring cup.
  10. 10Add 1 cup of red wine vinegar to the measuring cup.
  11. 11Add 1 cup of soy sauce to the measuring cup.
  12. 12Add the salmon to the broiler, about 8 inches from the top, at 500 degrees Fahrenheit (medium broil) for 8 to 10 minutes.
  13. 13Pour about two-thirds of the delicious sauce into a large frying pan.
  14. 14Heat the sauce over low heat.
  15. 15Once the sauce is hot, whisk in 1 stick of unsalted butter until combined over low heat.
  16. 16Sprinkle thinly sliced green onions into the sauce and whisk in.
  17. 17Drizzle a little of the sauce on top of the cooked salmon.
  18. 18Serve the salmon alongside the sauce, garnished with lemon wedges and green onions.

Tips

  • Always prefer fresh, wild-caught salmon as it tastes better, is more natural, and sustainable.
  • Leave the skin on the salmon to add flavor and keep it moist.
  • Season high, about a foot away from what you're seasoning, to cover all the surface area.
  • Do not heat the sauce too much while whisking in the butter to prevent separation.
