Directions

  1. 1Trim off any silver skin from the eye of round.
  2. 2Cut the beef in half and place it in the freezer for half an hour to make it easier to slice.
  3. 3Slice the beef into perfect slices.
  4. 4Pour maple syrup, soy sauce, whiskey, sesame oil, chili flakes, smoked paprika, garlic powder, rosemary, thyme, and ginger into a mason jar for the marinade.
  5. 5Add the sliced beef to the mason jar with the marinade.
  6. 6Mix the beef and marinade, then close the jar and put it in the fridge for 24 hours, flipping it halfway through.
  7. 7Lay out the marinated beef strips onto a wire rack.
  8. 8Sprinkle BBQ seasoning over the beef strips.
  9. 9Place the wire racks with the beef strips in the smoker at 200 degrees for about 5 hours.

  • 0.33 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 shots favorite whiskey
  • 1 sprig Rosemary
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp chili flakes
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • slices ginger
  • bit thyme
  • little bit BBQ seasoning

Tips

  • The timing for smoking depends on how thick you want your beef jerky.
  • The beef jerky is done when it is leathery to the touch and bendable.
