Directions

  1. 1In a pan, add a medium diced onion and cook it.
  2. 2Add diced chilli (optional) to the pan and cook it with the onion.
  3. 3Add 500g of lean ground beef to the pan and cook it until browned.
  4. 4Season the beef with 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp smoked paprika, 1 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp mixed herbs, and 1 tsp salt.
  5. 5Mix the seasonings thoroughly with the beef and cook until done.
  6. 6In a pot, add 900g of peeled and cut potatoes.
  7. 7Add a pinch of salt to the potatoes.
  8. 8Boil the potatoes for 15 minutes until tender.
  9. 9Mash the cooked potatoes until smooth.
  10. 10Transfer the mashed potatoes to a bowl.
  11. 11Add 1 cup of plain flour and a pinch of salt to the mashed potatoes.
  12. 12Mix and knead the ingredients in the bowl until a dough forms.
  13. 13Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces.
  14. 14Take one piece of dough, spray oil on your hands, and flatten it to create a pocket.
  15. 15Fill the dough pocket with 1/8 of the meat filling and 20g of low-fat cheese.
  16. 16Close the dough around the filling to form a round pocket.
  17. 17Spray a pan with oil.
  18. 18Place a pocket in the pan, cover it, and cook for 1-2 minutes on medium-low heat.
  19. 19Flip the pocket, cover again, and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  20. 20Serve the cooked potato pockets.
