Peach Cobbler

Directions

  1. 1Butter the cast iron skillet all around.
  2. 2Place a pie crust into the buttered cast iron skillet.
  3. 3Cut extra pie crust into strips to layer around the perimeter of the skillet.
  4. 4Add the pie crust strips around the perimeter of the skillet.
  5. 5Drain the cans of peaches and place them in a bowl.
  6. 6Add one cup of brown sugar to the peaches.
  7. 7Add two cups of white sugar to the peaches.
  8. 8Add vanilla extract to the peaches and sugar mixture.
  9. 9Add a little salted caramel syrup (optional) to the mixture.
  10. 10Add nutmeg to the mixture.
  11. 11Add cinnamon to the mixture.
  12. 12Mix all the ingredients in the bowl thoroughly with a light hand.
  13. 13Pour the peach mixture into the pie crust-lined cast iron skillet.
  14. 14Add pieces of butter on top of the peach mixture.
  15. 15Cut the remaining pie crust into strips.
  16. 16Weave the pie crust strips into a lattice pattern on top of the peaches.
  17. 17Brush melted butter over the top pie crust.
  18. 18Sprinkle cinnamon on top of the pie crust.
  19. 19Bake the cobbler in the oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 45 minutes.
  20. 20Let the cobbler rest for 30 minutes to cool before serving.
