Butter the cast iron skillet all around.

Place a pie crust into the buttered cast iron skillet.

Cut extra pie crust into strips to layer around the perimeter of the skillet.

Add the pie crust strips around the perimeter of the skillet.

Drain the cans of peaches and place them in a bowl.

Add one cup of brown sugar to the peaches.

Add two cups of white sugar to the peaches.

Add vanilla extract to the peaches and sugar mixture.

Add a little salted caramel syrup (optional) to the mixture.

Add nutmeg to the mixture.

Add cinnamon to the mixture.

Mix all the ingredients in the bowl thoroughly with a light hand.

Pour the peach mixture into the pie crust-lined cast iron skillet.

Add pieces of butter on top of the peach mixture.

Cut the remaining pie crust into strips.

Weave the pie crust strips into a lattice pattern on top of the peaches.

Brush melted butter over the top pie crust.
